Die ersten Emmys sind vergeben – zwar ging es noch nicht um „Beste Serie“ oder „Beste Hauptdarstellerin“, aber die kreative Seite von Serien-Produktionen hinter der Kamera wurde vergangene Nacht als Vorläufer zur großen Emmy-Verleihung gewürdigt. Um es ein bisschen prominenter zu machen, werden dabei auch schon Emmys für Gaststarts vergeben. Und so finden sich auf der Liste Julianne Nicholson („Hacks“) und Bryan Cranston („The Studio“), Shawn Hatosy („The Pitt“) und Merritt Wever („Severance“). Die sonstige Zwischenbilanz: „The Studio“ von Apple TV+ führte die Liste der Gewinner mit 9 Emmys an, gefolgt von „The Penguin“ von HBO Max (8), „Severance“ von Apple (6), „Star Wars: Andor“ von Disney+ und „Arcane“ und „Love, Death + Robots“ von Netflix (4), „The Boys“ von Amazon Prime Video und „Bridgerton“ von Netflix (3) sowie „The Pitt“ von HBO Max und „Adolescence“ von Netflix (2). Tatsächllich habe ich fast alles davon auch selbst gesehen, und kann deswegen sagen: das passt. Schade finde ich, dass Volker Bertelmann für seine Musik zu „Dune: Prophecy“ nicht ausgezeichnet wurde. Heute geht es weiter mit Emmy-Auszeichnungen für das nicht-fiktionale Programm, da geht es dann also um Realiy-Formate, Talkshows und Specials. Am kommenden Wochenende sind dann die 77. Primetime Emmys Awards 2025 angesetzt – da geht es dann in die großen Kategorien. Und da haben die hier schon häufig ausgezeichneten Formate nochmal die Chance, die Titelliste zu erweitern. Nach dem gestrigen Vorlauf tippe ich mal, dass vor allem bei „The Studio“ nochmal einiges dazukommen wird – die Serie, die sich mit dem Filmstudio-Geschäft in Hollywood auseinandersetzt, scheint bei der Jury offensichtlich gut anzukommen. Nominiert ist „The Studio“ hier beispielsweise noch für die beste Comedy-Serie, bester Hauptdarsteller, bester Nebendarsteller und beste Nebendarstellerin. Immerhin treten „The Penguin“ und „Star Wars: Andor“ nicht gegeneinander an – trotzdem dürfte es für die Star Wars-Serie schwer werden, es geht unter anderem gegen „Severance“ und „The Last of us“.
