Man sollte doch auch immer schön Leserbriefe lesen – im neuen „The Walking Dead“-Comic Band 176 zum Beispiel. Da verrät Robert Kirkman nämlich mal eben so nebenbei, wie die kommende Staffel 4 von „Fear the Walking Dead“ an „The Walking Dead“ anschließen wird. Bekanntlich stehen wir vor einem Crossover der beiden Serien, die Figur Morgan Jones ist für den Wechsel auserkoren.
Hatte man bislang gedacht, dass wir damit Szenen von Morgan aus früheren Zeiten zu sehen bekommen, weil „Fear the Walking Dead“ relativ weit vor den Ereignissen der aktuellen „The Walking Dead“-Staffel spielt, so belehrt uns Robert Kirkman eines besseren. „Fear the Walking Dead“ macht nämlich mal eben einen ordentlichen Zeitsprung und wird chronologisch an den bald beginnenden Teil 2 von Staffel 8 von „The Walking Dead“ anschließen (siehe auch unsere TWD-Timeline). Beide Serien gehen also mutmaßlich zeitlich gleichzeitig voran (es sei denn „The Walking Dead“ macht einen ordentlichen Sprung, wie die Comics, die die gleiche Zeit behandeln), so dass Morgans Geschichte einfach weiter erzählt wird Heißt auch: Er wird Staffel 8 wohl überleben. ;-)
Robert Kirkman sagt dazu:
„This half of Season Eight leads directly into Fear the Walking Dead Season Four, which will shake that show in a majorly cool way,“ Kirkman said. „So make sure you hang around for that.“
Und Morgans Darsteller Lennie James sagt:
„The things that the writers are doing with Morgan and the way that they’re navigating, it’s not really a spoiler alert, but the way that Morgan transitions through the crossover is really, really interesting. The springboard that goes from The Walking Dead to Fear is a real… He goes with some kind of trajectory. It is a full, well-thought out journey that Morgan goes on. A lot of it is tied to his relationship with Rick. A lot of it is tied to his relationship to this group of people that he feels conflicted about caring for and wanting to protect.“
